Data and Analytics for School Leaders (DASL): ATLIS 2022 Report

By ATLIS Admin posted 02-23-2022 03:23 PM

Each year, the National Association of Independent Schools surveys thousands of schools across the nation. The Data and Analytics for School Leadership (DASL) survey tool includes technology questions from ATLIS. As a partner organization, ATLIS compiles the results of the tech questions in an annual report for our members. The report not only includes this year’s results but also trends over time.

The 2022 edition is now available for ATLIS members to download.

To save you time, ATLIS presents the findings from this national research collaboration in a visual format. The ATLIS report equips you with access to useful information in a way that can be shared with leadership teams or your board. You can use this data to support technology projects by showing how your school compares to others around the nation. Comparing your school's figures to other schools' information can help you set goals, assess your progress, and make data-driven decisions.

The ATLIS DASL report includes information such as:

Operations

  • Number of dedicated technology integrationists (or similar title) tasked primarily with supporting classroom instruction with technology
  • Number of makerspaces on campus

Budgeting

  • Technology costs: predominantly distributed across the budget or centralized
  • Annual spend on library electronic resources
  • Percentage of budget allocated to technology
  • Handling of device procurement for students on financial aid
  • Number of schools applying for e-rate

Human Resources

  • Staff size by department
  • Department structure and hierarchy, including data on whom the technology director reports

Vendors

Find out which vendors other schools across the nation are using for:

  • Database
  • LMS
  • Productivity Tools
  • Interactive Whiteboards
  • Tech Support Management
  • 1:1 Devices
  • Filtering
  • Backups
  • Projectors
  • Wifi

ATLIS recognizes that not all technology leaders are responsible for entering a school’s technology-related data into DASL so we encourage cross-departmental collaboration during the data collection window to ensure the most accurate outcomes. The annual collection window opens in June and the ATLIS staff is available to answer questions that may arise during the entry process.
