ATLIS Announces Launch of Companion Manual to its ATLIS360 Self-Study Guide
Two years in the making, book provides critical resource for independent schools conducting strategic audits

The Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools, the only professional organization dedicated to technology leadership in independent schools, announced the release of a comprehensive companion manual to its ATLIS360: Technology Self-Study Guide for Schools. The ATLIS360 Companion Manual features more than 100 pages of guidance, templates, and resources designed to support independent schools engaged in an accreditation review or a school-wide technology audit.

“As more schools turn to the ATLIS360 Self-Study Guide when they need to engage in a comprehensive technology review, we realized we needed to provide additional guidance and templates for the best practices we are recommending,” said Christina Lewellen, ATLIS’s executive director. “We invested nearly two years and engaged countless contributors to put together the ATLIS360 Companion Manual and we believe the final product drives significant progress in any technology auditing process—whether for reaccreditation, long-term strategic planning, or assessing the state of a school’s technology investments coming out of the pandemic.”

Designed to mirror the five major sections of the ATLIS360 Self-Study Guide, the ATLIS360 Companion Manual contains resources and documentation examples for 1) academic programs, educational processes, teaching and learning, 2) managing technology for school operations, 3) leading the technology department, 4) best practices regarding technology resources, and 5) long-range and strategic planning. Throughout the book, QR codes will lead users to digital complements and additional resources.

Both the ATLIS360 self-study guide and this accompanying manual can be used for school-wide technology audits, as part of an accreditation process, or to conduct an in-depth analysis of specific aspects of a school’s technology program. The detailed manual is also useful as a day-to-day reference guide.

“This launch of this book means no school—especially schools with limited resources—will be staring at a blank document when it comes time to create workflows, policies, and procedures,” Lewellen noted. “Where the original self-study guide provided guiding questions and supporting prompts to start important conversations, the ATLIS360 Companion Manual advances a school’s attempt to answer those questions and address those recommendations. We hope that users find the ATLIS360 Companion Manual an indispensable tool that puts the wind at their backs when they’re engaged in this important, detailed work.”

The ATLIS360 Companion Manual is available for $219, though ATLIS member schools are eligible for discounted membership pricing of $74 per book. The book is available in print format only, and it does contain QR codes and links to a site that houses additional resources.
