Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by the increase of news headlines announcing cyber attacks on schools, or you think that you have a handle on cybersecurity practices but want to make sure that your school has all of the tools to embrace cyber safety as part of their culture, the ATLIS Cybersecurity 101 workshop is a must-attend.

This five-hour virtual workshop over two consecutive Fridays (October 7 and 14) will provide a framework for building a cyber security team and offer practical steps to build a culture of cyber awareness and safe practices for independent schools.

Participants will learn from industry experts and veteran technology leaders about important industry updates and risk management best practices that will help their schools mitigate the risk of cyber attacks.

Workshop topics include completing a personalized cybersecurity report card, case studies from Ankura, implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA), data mapping and training, and building an incident response team. A special presentation from cybersecurity attorney Adam Griffin will offer advice on navigating vendor contracts, and experts from Bolton insurance company will shed light on understanding cyber liability insurance.

Technology leaders who haven’t previously attended an ATLIS cybersecurity workshop (or who have and want a refresher) should plan to attend. ATLIS also encourages anyone who handles sensitive data, risk management, and other members of the technology team to register and attend together. With breakout sessions that involve hands-on exercises, participants will complete activities that relate to their role within the school and will leave with tools they can use right away.

Participants will have access to a website with all resources referenced throughout the workshop, and they will also receive the archive of both sessions at the conclusion of the event.

ATLIS members can attend for just $149. Again ATLIS has partnered with several regional independent school associations to offer their members a special rate of $199 (a $50 discount off the public price of $249).
