ATLIS Announces Incoming Directors

Cuevas, Curtis, and Ramadan to join Board in July

The Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools (ATLIS), the only professional association for independent school technology directors, announces the election of three highly qualified technology leaders to its board of directors:

  • Hiram Cuevas
  • Jason Curtis
  • Muhammad Ramadan

"We are thrilled to welcome our incoming board members, Hiram, Jason, and Muhammad, whose diverse backgrounds and expertise will complement and enhance our current board's strengths,” said Denise Musslewhite, ATLIS board chair and founder of Tech & Thrive. “As representatives of our membership, we are confident that their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas will help us navigate the needs of our members during a time where technology in education is constantly advancing. We look forward to welcoming these thought leaders to our team so we can continue the strategic initiatives in which ATLIS is engaged on behalf of our membership."

Hiram Cuevas

Cuevas joined St. Christopher’s in 1991 as a middle school science teacher, advisor, and coach. During his tenure, he also served as the middle school technology coordinator and the director of summer programs. In 2006, Cuevas started the journey of integrating technology into the curriculum and led the deployment of the school's student information system and website. He was also instrumental in earning recognition for St. Christopher's School as the Spotlight School at the Lausanne Learning Conference in 2015. Hiram is currently the director of information systems and academic technology and holds the Charles S. Luck II ‘51 Chair of Academic Technology.

In 2019, Cuevas was named the executive director of Blackbaud's K-12 Advisory Board and in 2021, he was recognized by ATLIS as a Pillar award recipient. Cuevas holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of William and Mary and is a member of the college’s Athletics Hall of Fame in track and field. He and his wife Grace, a teacher at Saint Gertrude High School, have three children: Gracie, Joey, and Aubrey.

Jason Curtis

Curtis is an educator with expertise in educational technology, change management, personnel management, and relationship-building between technology departments and the communities they serve. He has been active in the field of academic technology since 1997 as a teacher leader, instructional technologist, and as director of technology. He has experience at all levels of PK-12 education in public, private, and independent schools, most recently having joined Thaden School in Bentonville, Arkansas, in 2019 as the director of technology and associate head of school.

Curtis was a founding trustee of the Online School for Girls, now One Schoolhouse, and a past consortium member with the Center for STEM Education for Girls. Curtis holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Muhammad Ramadan

Ramadan believes that the role of technology and technology leaders in any community or organization is to connect, advance, respond, educate, and secure. Ramadan advances Seven Hills’ vision of instructional technology, promoting innovative uses of ed tech in classrooms that point back to the school’s mission. He is a solution-driven communicator who leverages technology to enhance learning, support innovative thinking, and facilitate collaboration. He aims to empower learners, educators, and all members of the community to reach their positive potential.

Before shifting into technology administration at Thaden School in Arkansas, Ramadan spent 15 years designing and teaching a wide range of history and social science courses for grades 6- through 12. He also taught in various independent school settings throughout the U.S. He holds degrees in information technology, education, and psychology. Away from school, Ramadan enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing ultimate frisbee, casual bike rides, going to the movies, and reading fantasy and nonfiction.
