Take part in our ongoing discussion of Post Corona by Scott Galloway by responding to the question below.

    • How is the K-12 space ripe for disruption as a result of COVID? What has been disrupted and what are the lasting impact and implications of those disruptions? What are the disruptions we want to encourage and what are the disruptions we want to remedy?

There are many possible responses here. One might be the relationship of teachers to technology. Teachers have changed their practice radically and expanded their knowledge of technology significantly. But they also experienced burnout and other traumas during the past months of the pandemic. Is it really wise to blame technology for all that has happened? How can we move positive disruptions forward (one might call this growth) and at the same time share some empathy regarding the difficulties and challenges we have all faced?

How can we keep our focus on what matters, the best ways to encourage learning and growth in the the children we serve?

For me, one of the positive disruptions has proven to be that the faculty have begun a move toward technology instead of trying to block it. The struggle to implement change has also become easier. There is less of a change for change sake attitude that permeates the Technology world and a more change for the better attitude is taking hold.

As a technology leader, I look for the ideas and tools that make the teaching job easier but not interfere with the actual teaching. An example of this is cameras in the classroom. In years past, faculty did not want any camera in their classroom. Now they are used to having Zoom webcams and other recording devices. Now they are more comfortable with them and in some cases have begum to rely on them.
