    ATLIS Peeps,

Our ancient bell system has failed and we also learned that it was well beyond end of life.

Looking for recommendations and or prerequisites we should consider when reviewing a bell system that needs to accommodate multiple buildings.

    Thanks,

    Hiram

    Good morning, Hiram!

We were on an old system called "Bell Commander" that we had outgrown years ago, but the fear of moving systems and other higher-priority projects stopped us for too long until we had several mishaps.

This year we moved over to SingleWire's Informacast system. We had just upgraded our emergency IP phones in the classrooms and offices, and we did have to upgrade our Barix devices for our outdoor horns for them to be visible to the system.

Some reasons that we moved include the modern web-based interface, support for Mac and Windows devices, as well as mobile apps to initiate an announcement from anywhere.

    Best of luck!

    Jimmy

    Hi there Hiram,

We also implemented Informacast several years ago. It has proved to be an excellent tool for our PA/Emergency notification broadcasts across campus and integrates well with Zoom Phones (which we also have). This allows us to leverage speakers, phones, apps and texting for any/all broadcast notifications. You also have the ability to create zones to partition notifications based on various scenarios.  Additionally, we were able to integrate our outdoor speakers at the pool, fields and the amphitheatre into the Informacast system which has been extremely helpful and saved costs.

We are another Informacast school.  Has worked well over the years.  Bells and announcements go over IP speakers and phones.

Our school wanted to keep the existing old school bells.  So we went with a device from Innovation Wireless.
