    Hello,

I'm curious to know what brand/model Chromebooks schools have been using and what kind of success they've had with them?  We have been using Lenovo 500e Chromebooks, with some success, but Lenovo Support for warranty repairs has been a nightmare (for years now).

    Thanks!

We had been using Lenovo until 2020 when we started using Dell. We are on the 4th year of the same model and have had a pretty good experience. The current version is the 3110 2-in-1 and even our 2020 models in our loaner pool still get the Chrome updates. I've never had a problem with the Dell warranty repair and they are pretty sturdy. The only thing that I have found with all chromebooks including this one is that you have to be pretty diligent about checking that the screws are secure. If the corner hinge screws get loose, then the internal screws holding the hinge start to get loose and eventually break out. We have very few hardware problems when we set aside a few minutes a couple times of year to tighten them up.

    Hi Roger,

We were using all Lenovo chromebooks until this year. Their repair support has been pretty good for us - I have access to their Bulk Repair Portal which makes submitting a repair claim very easy (though sometimes it takes a couple of days to get the return label). We moved away from them this year because the garaged stylus in the 500e Gen 3's is terrible, expensive to replace, and not covered after the 1 year warranty expires.

We are using Acer Spin 511's in 6th grade this year and Acer Spin 714's in 9th grade, and have a 3 year insurance/accidental damage plan on them as our number 1 issue here is a cracked screen. So far so good. They have a repair portal and it has been so easy to submit a claim I almost feel like I'm being punk'd. The return label shows up immediately and the turnaround time for repair is about 2 weeks. I know it's the honeymoon phase as it's only been a few months but I am really happy with them. We will likely get the same devices and ADP plan next year if things continue to go smoothly with them!

Feel free to PM me with any questions!

    Vicki

    Hi Roger~

We also use Lenovo models.  We used Archangel Tablets for purchase and they offer a warranty @ $79 per chromebook so all I have to do is ship it back to them for repair or replacement.  Turn around is usually pretty quick.  Totally worth it in my opinion I highly recommend and will be happy to share any further details if you'd like.
