Ed Tech / Academic Tech Mission and Vision Statements

Do any schools have an Ed Tech or Academic Tech Mission and/or Vision statements they are willing to share?  We are re-imagining support for academic technology and are curious how other schools define their programs through these foundational statements.  Thanks in advance for sharing!

Here is ours which was developed a number of years ago and we should review it:

Students at Kinkaid utilize technology as an essential part of their learning process so that they will be able to:

    1. Act as active, responsible, and ethical citizens in the digital realm

    2. Communicate thoughts and ideas using a variety of digital media

    3. Create and consume digital information and technology mindfully and intelligently

    4. Apply technology innovatively in a variety of settings and circumstances

The structure for mine is a bit different than Vinnie's but you can see it here. This is a work-in-progress but I'm trying to align the tech department to it.

Thanks! I probably should have added that I work at at school for students with learning differences so that's a huge piece of what we do. However, I believe that UDL is the right way to design instruction for all learners!

hi Susan - and thanks to those who shared theirs...here's our school's vision statement:

Digital Innovation at Children's Day School equips young thinkers and doers with emergent tools and models of inquiry that develop visionary change-makers.
In alignment with CDS' mission, beliefs, and values, digital innovation provides students with opportunities to become healthy digital natives, powerful storytellers, inspired innovators, ethical change agents, and engaged contributors to local and global conversations of importance.

Upon graduation, CDS eighth graders have the confidence to navigate, create, adapt, and invent with digital tools while staying grounded in who they are.

Thank you, Daven, for sharing your vision statement.  It is so helpful to have some examples to guide us in defining our own statements.

Jennifer wrote a great article on this topic for ATLIS.

Yesterday I was listening to a webinar from Tim Fish, and he described the following:

Activity: write the mission in just 5-10 words (not the mission statement verbatim). Are we aligned? Do we need to do work on the mission? Followed by vision. Vision - the public story you tell about the future you want to see. Strategy - how we are going to get there.
