    Hi All,

We are looking to find a solution to transcribe our in-person board meetings.  As anyone found a service/ai-tool that you have successfully done this with?  I know there are lots of options for virtual meetings.

    Thanks!

Zoom has a plugin that I absolutely LOVE! Fathom AI note taking tool

It's definitely worth a try and free of cost. You can find a way to use it during in person meetings.

Visitation Admin's have used  and used Fathom in Zoom.  Overall they thought it worked pretty well.  The text to speech in MS Teams works pretty good too.

I am Deaf, so I use Otter.AI as an accessibility device, and that works great for my purposes.  However, I would be cautious about transcribing board meetings as a formal practice since anything recorded is discoverable from a legal standpoint.  If the board wants that, then my point is moot, as long as they recognize that its discoverable.  I delete my sensitive transcripts since they are only used for the express purpose of making events accessible and empowering me to participate in them--not to keep a recorded transcript of.  If they were transcribed, kept, and hence discoverable, I wouldn't be invited to any meetings that they don't want or desire to have recorded.  You'll also want to inform everyone who is being transcribed, and what rules will apply to those transcripts, etc.  Just be cognizant about those potential issues.

    Best, Rob

    Hi Mike,

I also use Otter.ai, and I find it great. It summarises really well. I had it transcribe a product training session for a group of teachers yesterday and the summary was amazing. It uses AI to summarise. It highlights action items and summarises each topic covered, and it also took 99 screenshots in the 56-minute session. It took very little work to create a playbook from that to send to the training course attendees. I'd recommend it. There's a free version that gives you 300 monthly transcription minutes, and the Pro plan only costs $10 per month.

    I hope that helps.
