    I have a few teachers that still use an interactive display.  I would like to avoid spending the money on a Promethean and/or Smart branded display when all I need is the interactive part and the software that the teachers currently use for Promethean/Smart will (should) work on any interactive display.  

    Any recommendations on hardware?

    If you're looking for a large display that is touch-enabled, it's pretty hard to find a match to usability, durability, and support by going outside of the big names. We use Clevertouch at Laurel.

    You could go for some kind of TV + Airtame + iPad if you're looking to minimize costs.

    We are very happy with the Newline monitors that we purchased for our elementary division last year. We bought the RS+ model which is no longer available. I understand that the Q model is the replacement and I expect to purchase more this winter. The price is excellent (or at least it was). We had a virtual demo which they do well. And they offer free training, including onsite (and we are located nowhere near them). I'd be happy to speak more offline if you want.

    We are happy with our Vivitek NovoTouch IFPs.  They are reasonably priced and include network projection functionality.  We have 81 as of now, mostly 75".  Some of our faculty who use them also use SMART Notebook, for which we have collaborative licenses, although its use isn't quite as seamless as with SMART branded IWBs/IFPs, with their pen trays that auto-trigger the applicable tools.
