We are currently working with Digistrom to develop and app for parents and faculty. We are trying to decide whether or not to purchase the Student Logistics module and implement an "Attendance" button in the app for the parent. Does any school use the Student Logistic module in Veracross and if so, has it been a positive experience? Is the experience for the parent straight forward and does it save time for the person tracking student attendance? Currently, if a parent wants to schedule a future absence for their child they contact the front office. I appreciate any comments on this topic. Thank you.

We are using Student Logistics at our upper school and plan to implement it at our middle and lower schools next year. 

Our US admin assistant has been pleased with the shift to logistics. There are a few key benefits over our old email system.

Currently, US parents are logging in to our portal and submitting the logistics request. Mainly Absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals. We are not currently using the aftercare and transportation options. On the backend, the admin assistant reviews the Absences tab on the US attendance page in Axiom. It is one-stop shopping for all the information that she needs. When a student is marked absent and there is no information in the SLR Details field, it lets her know that the student's parents have not communicated the absence with the school. The information in the SLR field also allows us to track illness trends.

We plan to implement LS and MS logistics in the fall, and at that point, we will use the aftercare and transportation options at those levels. 

The biggest obstacle is changing parents' behavior.  I believe that the employees will adopt the system pretty quickly, as it should save them significant time, organize information for them and allow easy access to that information.

We are also looking into the Digistorm app and I think that will ultimately assist in changing parents behavior.
