  • 1.  Faculty Technology Survey

    My predecessor was in the role for nearly 20 years. In that time an Academic Technology Survey was never performed. The faculty had little to say about what was working and what was not. It is my goal to perform this survey in several small group sessions and follow up with some cross sectional one on one sessions. Has anyone done a comprehensive study of faculty use and needs? Do you have any advice on questions to ask or ways to ask them?

    Having been in the classroom, I know that teacher time is valuable and am looking for a way to make it easy and get as large a sample as I can get.

    I do an annual survey via Microsoft Forms that takes 5-10 minutes. I do slightly different versions for our grades depending on LMS and other things they use. For example TYPK-2 uses Seesaw and 3-8 uses Teams. I also ask a few open questions to allow for broad comments.
