    Dear ATLIS community,

Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of an online community discussion portal to serve as the digital complement to our recently redesigned print magazine, Access Points. The Access Points message boards are open to the entire independent school community and create space for continuing the conversation around important, in-depth features presented in the magazine. Further, the discussion boards aim to capture and continue to uphold the impressive peer-based solution sharing that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just as schools are taking stock of the unexpected positives of pandemic-shaped learning and technology solutions to see what should be incorporated permanently, we see the value in continuing the impressive community crowdsourcing that emerged during this time.  We designed a platform to not only continue to support these invaluable peer-to-peer interactions but also to facilitate important conversations around the in-depth issues being presented in the completely redesigned magazine, Access Points.

By now, you should have received your print copy of Access Points, which includes profiles of industry thought leaders, features focusing on strategic issues, and a supplier directory of technology-focused solutions for independent schools. We wanted to give you an opportunity to jump into the conversations and provide your perspective, which is how the Access Points discussion boards were born. We want to host two-way conversations around the important topics being covered in the print edition.

The ATLIS Access Points discussion portal is also, in part, an evolution of the organization's virtual town halls, which started in the early days of the pandemic and continue to be a monthly staple in ATLIS's programming. We continue to be amazed at the degree to which technology leaders will help their peers with ideas, solutions, and support. We have felt for a long time that the ATLIS community is "in this together," and the Access Points community discussion platform is a natural extension of our role in connecting technology leaders, some of whom may operate on an island at their schools, to a broader network of professionals who are committed to helping them succeed.

So, with the Access Points discussion portal, we're accomplishing multiple goals all centered around meaningful community conversations.

The ATLIS Access Points discussion portal does not require ATLIS membership (it is free and open to the entire community); it will prompt users to sign in with a free account in order to participate. Since you have participated in the ATLIS community, you already have an account on the ATLIS Access Points discussion board. For technical support, email community@theATLIS.org.  The community guidelines are posted for users to acknowledge and will be strictly enforced in order to maintain open, supportive, and relevant interactions.

Thank you for being an engaged and supportive peer network throughout the COVID era. We hope you enjoy your print copy of Access Points magazine, and we can't wait to see what problems are solved next in the Access Points online community.

    Sincerely,

    Christina Lewellen
    Executive Director of ATLIS

    Hello Technology Leaders!

Welcome to the Access Points by ATLIS community discussion boards-we're so happy to have you! It's a great place to meet your peers and get answers to your most pressing questions.

The Access Points site is a secure community for independent school leaders to share ideas, ask questions, lend expertise, and network with peers. The community features a discussion forum as well as a library for sharing documents, resources, links and more. Now, you can interact with independent school technologists around the world wherever and whenever you need to.

Because the Access Points site is integrated with ATLIS's membership database, you will log into the platform using your www.theATLIS.org user ID and password. This is a free platform open to the entire community. If you don't know your username/password, use the forgot username/password link to reset it. If you don't immediately get the username/password reset email, please check your spam/junk folder.

The Access Points community has a robust discussion feature that allows you to communicate with your fellow members in real-time via email or opt for a daily or weekly digest. Discussions are archived and searchable. By default, you have been subscribed to receive a daily digest of the Access Points discussions.

You can change these settings by editing your profile after logging in. And speaking of profiles, because of the database integration, your profile has already been populated with some basic information. We encourage you to add your bio or connect your profile to your LinkedIn account as a quick and easy means of updating your photo.

Are you ready to re-think the way you exchange ideas, expand your knowledge and build relationships? Then let's get started:

    1. Complete your profile. Make sure you mark the topics that interest you to help us personalize your community experience.
    2. Visit the directory and request to connect with me and one other member.
    3. Start a discussion. If you have a question you'd like to ask your peers, reach out to them today.

Beginning tomorrow, you'll get a daily dose of helpful advice and enlightening discourse from other members emailed to you. If you'd like to change your subscription settings, you can do so under the Community Notifications section of your profile.

As with most everything in life, the more you put into the community, the more you'll get out of it. So take the next step and get involved!

Feel free to take a look around. You can search past discussions or start one of your own. There is also a comprehensive FAQ section if you get stuck.

If I can help with anything, don't hesitate to reach out.

    Sincerely,
