  • 1.  Replacing OneNote on Chromebooks

Our school switched to Chromebooks (from iPads) a few years ago. Students were using Kami, then Notability, then Squid Notes, and currently OneNote to write and organize PDFs. However, Microsoft is letting go of its app services for OneNote. Students are left with a glitchy browser version of OneNote.

Teachers really liked the opportunity to push PDFs to students, have them right on them, see it in real-time, and be able to give them feedback without having students "submit" or "drop" the electronic document somewhere.
Is there anything out there like this?

    Thank you for your consideration.

Apps on Google Play would be a place to look... this was a recommendation:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xodo.pdf.reader&hl=en_US&gl=US  will list more similar as well.

Evernote comes to mind, Kami is also another excellent choice still on Chromebooks as well as integration to Google Workspace for Education (used to just be Google Education Suite).  https://edu.google.com/intl/ALL_us/

    These work well with Chromebooks.

Look into Evernote... we have been using it for well over a decade.

What is Microsoft dropping for OneNote in regards to Chromebooks? Can't you use the android app? For automatic sync and distribution I don't think you will find something as powerful as OneNote especially with Class Notebooks.

For those Chromebook users that have already downloaded the Microsoft Office apps, the apps will continue to function after September 18, though they will not receive any support or future updates.--could still use until they are outdated for good change over time, too.

You can use the online version...it appears that most of the functionality is available include Class Note book and Inserting a PDF.  I think what will determine the glitchy parts could be network/Wifi speed.  Not sure.  You could definitely see if you can find the Google Play option for the app (Android).
