I'm excited about sending our team to the new ATLIS Tech Academy. If you aren't familiar with Tech Academy, it's a year-long cohort that focuses on cyber security and IT system optimization for schools. Participants will hone their technical skills in things like network segmentation, audits for access controls, firewalls, and network switches. Anyone else planning to attend, or sending someone from your school?
This is an area that is on our minds right now - in light of a recent cyber insurance renegotiation (something that is likely on the horizon annually from now on) and the rising rates of cybercrime, particularly targeted at educational institutions. So this course will really help our team to get all of our systems, practices, and policies in tip top shape. It will also help them to develop contacts in other schools that are working on the same thing.
It's a win-win for our team. They develop their skills while the school mitigates our cyber risk.
