Hello Everyone,
I would love to hear from some schools regarding how their security systems are integrated when they have multiple campuses.
At St. Anne's-Belfield School, we have two campuses that are about a mile apart. Our campuses have independent internet, and we have a metro-E connection between the campuses so that they can communicate with each other. We use Schlage SMS for our access control and Valcom for our paging system. These systems are tied together so that if there is a threat, an employee can swipe one of the many lockdown readers with their fob, which will trigger an audio message over Valcom and lock all of the access control doors on both campuses. We are reviewing our security systems and want to ensure we are in line with what other similar institutions are doing. We are thinking about isolating both campuses so that they can be locked down independently from each other.
If you are willing, please share how you are handling this.
Thank you, and I appreciate the conversation!
