    Hi everyone,

    I hope your Thanksgiving Break was restful and fun.

    I'm looking for recommendations for a good guest speaker to my parent community on the topic of social media and adolescents... anyone you'd encourage me to consider or reach out to?

    Hey Jim!

    We teamed up with another school in the CLT area and had Steph Humphry present. She presented to students at both of our schools and then presented to parents in the evening. She was pricey, but well-received by both groups.

    Hi Jim, 

    I'd like to recommend Erica Shumaker. She is a colleague of mine and a wealth of information on social media and adolescents. She recently conducted an ISTE Expert Webinar, has been quoted in EdWeek MarketBrief, and authored a blog for CoSN all on similar topics. She has a lot of experience in speaking and working with parents on sensitive issues.

    Hi Jim, 

    I just partnered with our entrepreneurship teacher to deliver one of our Plugged in Parents series talks right before Thanksgiving break. Jason Shaffer is a co-author of the book Brand Up which is a workbook for teens to reinvision their social media and use it for good. He has experience working with students from 7th to 12th grade about the power of social media. Our parents loved the presentation. It is always one of our best-attended sessions. 

    Jason has been a guest on George Couros' podcast and is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences on this topic. I highly recommend reaching out to him.
