What does your school program around cyber security training for students look like? How is it implemented, and by whom? Are you doing any simulated phishing exercises with them? Is the program developed in-house, or have you partnered with anyone?

We do not have a student program for cyber security training.  We did implement the PhishAlert button for our students and I spoke at chapel about how to use it, but they haven't taken me up on the offer.  In truth, few of the faculty use it...  I'm going to have to look at pulling that out of our KnowBE4 renewal this year.

I did a one-hour presentation about cybersecurity to a group of EDI (Engineering, Design & Innovation) students a year ago that was well-received, but they were an interested group of students, so not really surprising.  The teacher reported back to me that the students thought it was important to share with every NA student...but so far that hasn't happened.

I'm curious about any programs that are used for students and will follow this thread!

    Best,

    Susan

    Hey Will,

We also utilize KnowBe4 for Employees & Students and we have a really high rate (relative) of PAB (Phish Alert Button) use among both populations. For example, our last Employee campaign we had 32% report the simulated emails and our last Student campaign we had 26% report using the PAB. While those are not super high numbers, I'd call it a win? We also send out a training video every quarter to employees and students, which varies on topics.

@Nick Marchese are you sending phishing emails to students via KnowBe4? When I spoke to my account manager on our monthly call, I asked about this and was told that they can't phish students due to various legal issues. I also inquired about student pricing, which was unavailable for this reason.

Yes. We've been doing simulated phishing emails to students for almost 2 years now every 2 weeks, the same we do for Employees. I never had any issues or questions when I've chatted with our rep about it semi-regularly?
